Stabilisation and recovery from crises

The Iraqi government has developed a clear and easy strategy to restore stability to the liberated areas and recovery from the crisis. This strategy included the development of a joint plan contributed by all ministries of the state concerned with the rehabilitation of basic infrastructure and in close cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The government is working with the a support group to restore stability in the liberated areas of Iraq according to the data of the liberated areas that indicate the need for this funding to restore normal life to them, open government institutions, provide services and ensure security for them

Recovery from crisis

The steady growth of disaster risk, the increased vulnerability of people and property, as well as the lessons learned from previous disasters, indicate the need to further strengthen disaster preparedness and taking action in anticipation of natural disasters, making disaster risk reduction part of the preparedness for confrontation and ensuring that capacities for disaster response and recovery are effective at all levels. The disasters have shown that the stage of recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction, which needs to be prepared before disasters, is a crucial opportunity to rebuild in a better way, including the integration of disaster risk reduction in the development measures, making nations and societies able to cope with disasters.

which is the focus of disaster risk management policies and practices, on understanding these risks in all their dimensions, namely, the vulnerability of people and property to disasters, their capacities, vulnerability to disasters and their characteristics in addition to the environment.

National and local levels

including encouraging access to real-time data that can be relied upon, and periodically assess disaster risks, including the sources of the dangers of existing, new and emerging disasters and strengthen national strategies to strengthen public education and awareness disaster risk reduction (DRR).

Strengthen disaster preparedness to effectively address them and “rebuild better” in recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction. Disasters have shown that the stage of recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction, which need pre-disaster preparedness, are a crucial opportunity for better reconstruction, including the integration of disaster risk reduction in development measures and making nations and societies resilient to and recovering from disasters.

There are six priorities for action, each with a core set of activities at the local, national, regional and global levels.
